| Wireless Patient Monitoring in an Ambulance |

A second Medical University on one of Japan’s many islands concluded a patient vital sign monitoring study from a moving ambulance. The demonstration project demonstrated the flexibility of TeleVital’s VitalWare technologies which among many things allows moving vehicles such as ambulances to remain connected to a wireless networks during transport. The demonstration exhibited an ambulance driving from the scene of a car accident to a hospital while the patients 12 lead ECG and video are being transmitted in real-time over Cisco’s WLAN. Doctors located in the hospital were able to login to the hospital’s network and monitor the patient throughout the trip to the hospital. This project involved the cooperation of CISCO and Sony Corporation. The projects in Japan were made possible through the coordination of TeleVital company representative Isamu Takeuchi from Medical Teknika. |
