| Indian Express, Friday, August 19, 2005 Manipal opens telemedicine unit in Mauritius |

City Based Manipal Hospital has launched its first telemedicine unit outside the country at Cliniq Du
Nord, one of the major hospitals in northern Mauritius to offer medical solutions.
It is the first ever telemedicine link to be setup in Mauritius. The centre was inaugurated by Mauritius
Health Minister Satish Faugoo in the presence of Information and Communication Technologies Minister
Etienne Sinatambou and Indian High Commissioner Pripuranisingh Haer, said a release issued here on Thursday.
Manipals eHealth Package supported by Bangalore-based Televital includes tele-consultation, workshops and
medical education programmes, domiciliary tele-health initiatives in housing complexes and community
centres, ambulatory programmes, remote ICU monitoring and tele-diagnosis, the release said. EHS.
