Plymouth, MN, May 30, 2001 - - QRS Diagnostic, LLC and TeleVital, Inc.
announced a collaborative development of web-enabled QRS PC Card medical
devices, resulting in real-time monitoring, assessment, analysis, retrieval,
and storage of physiological data over the Internet. The product will
be showcased at the annual ATA meeting June 3 through June 5 in Ft. Lauderdale,
FL.
QRS specializes in software-based medical devices that seamlessly integrate
with off-the-shelf PCs, handheld computers, and Internet appliances.
The company's PC Card medical device platform is used worldwide as a cost-effective
and portable means of acquiring and communicating physiological data such
as spirometry, oximetry, electrocardiograph, BP, and vitals.
TeleVital Inc. uses their proprietary real-time browser-based software
engine, VitalWare(TM), to web-enable medical devices and provide the infrastructure
that allows for real-time data streaming over the Internet. TeleVital's
innovative solutions further enhance QRS PC Card technology by allowing
healthcare
practitioners to perform remote evaluations and test procedures over
the Internet. The patient data, managed by using a web-based electronic
medical record (EMR), can be retrieved using a 56K, ISDN, DSL, or T1 Internet
connection.
"VitalWare compliments QRS physiological data acquisition technology
by offering a unique solution to overcome the barriers of distance and time,
while improving continuity of healthcare," states Kishore Kumar, President
of TeleVital Inc. "TeleVital is committed to making our web-enabled
software integration robust and promotes QRS medical devices to reach broader
market penetration in areas of telemedicine and home healthcare."
"We are confident that web-enabling our PC-based medical devices will
allow us to better meet the needs of the growing telemedicine marketplace,"
states Greg Newman, QRS Business Development and OEM Sales Manager.
"TeleVital's ability to use our Software Developers Kit to customize a solution
that is web-based is yet another example of the flexibility the QRS medical
device platform brings to our development partners."
TeleVital Inc., based and founded in San Jose, California, specializes
